Winter weather is upon us!

With several inches of snow falling in the last couple days, our area is seeing some challenges.  The cold temperatures and freezing wind chills are a combination that is tough to fight.  Make sure to check all of your pipes that are near exterior walls and be certain they are effectively insulated.  Also, make sure all your garden hoses have been disconnected for the season.  These things can help prevent pipes from bursting. 

Snow and ice buildup on your roof can result in difficult ice dams, causing roof leaks inside your home.  Adequate attic ventilation and removing build up with a roof rake can help keep this from happening.
