“Oh the weather outside is... Well not quite frightful yet, thankfully.” But we are racing in to cooler temps, snow, and the holiday season. The Holiday’s bring about a certain sense of cheer and togetherness. You’re gathered with the family, snuggled up in a cozy blanket, going back for another slice of pie. What’s missing from this scenario? For a lot of families, a nice scented candle like cinnamon apple to tie the whole ambiance together. If you’re going that route, be sure the extra helping of pie doesn’t make you take a nap with the candle burning. With the modern materials in today’s home furnishings, fires can start and spread quickly. If you plan on burning a candle, be sure to always have someone alert with an eye on it, and extinguish the candle before leaving the room.

Christmas Trees... Go with the real thing or Artificial?

A Christmas tree to gather the family around for the holidays is a wonderful sight. Decorated with ornaments and family memories, presents at the bottom, and pretty lights strung throughout. A great image for the holiday season. When choosing a tree for the holiday season, you have the option of using a real tree or an artificial. On the safety side of things, we would recommend using an artificial tree. However, a real tree can be a totally safe option if you maintain the care of it properly. This involves regular watering to keep the tree from drying out. An improperly cared for, dry tree can go up like a matchbox if exposed to a candle or perhaps an electric short from the lights you have used to decorate the tree.
